SPRING 2022 GRADUATES
DEADLINE PASSED
Approval can be via signature on the form or via emails noting the approval from your Honors Faculty Advisor and your faculty mentor.
Title for your proposal form file should follow the titling requirements:

Thesis
Follow the thesis template for the formatting of your thesis. Take note of the placement and pagination of the different sections before and after the table of contents, as well as the first and last pages. If your thesis has been approved with a different format, still include the first and last pages from the template.
You may either submit a thesis with your three departmental signatures on the cover page (your faculty mentor, honors faculty advisor, and chair) or submit an email from your HFA indicating that you have all three approvals. Theses without all three approvals will not be accepted.

USpace
You must submit a USpace permission form if you would the library to have your thesis available for public viewing.

Your thesis and USpace permission from are both submitted to the thesis submission link.
* Note that these deadlines are for your approved thesis to be submitted to Honors. It is your responsibility to set up deadlines with your faculty mentor and Honors Faculty Advisor to work backwards from these dates to determine when they would like to see your thesis.
January 21, 2022 - Deadline to apply for Spring 2022 Graduation
April 1, 2022 - Deadline to be considered for Marriot Library Thesis award
A thesis is selected for both STEM and the Humanities, and each winner receives a cash prize. If you wish to be considered for this award, you also will need a letter of support from either your faculty mentor or your HFA.
May 9, 2022 - Thesis submission deadline
Thesis approval will only be cleared on DARS if your thesis has been approved by all three members of your departmental team.
Undergraduate Research Scholar Designation (NOT MANDATORY)
February 9, 2022 - Early deadline
Students meeting the early deadline will have their names printed as Undergraduate
Research Scholars in the graduation convocation programs. If you have not yet completed
the publication and presentation requirements, you may satisfy these requirements
by registering for the Undergraduate Research Symposium and submitting to the Undergraduate
Research Abstracts journal BEFORE applying for the URSD.
April 26, 2022 - Final deadline
Be advised if you submit your application after the early deadline of February 10th,
your name WILL NOT appear in the convocation program. You will still receive the designation
on your U of U transcripts.
Undergraduate Research Journal (NOT MANDATORY)
Year-round submissions accepted - Journal printed in June
You may do this at any time, and your URSD will get conferred after you do, even if
it is after graduation.
* You must have conducted at least two semesters of research supervised by a faculty mentor. If this was not conducted via UROP or SPUR, have a faculty mentor sign the verification form.
