 North American Computational Linguistics Open Competition

The University of Utah is a local host for the North American Computational Linguistics Open Competition! NACLO is a free contest in which high school students learn about linguistics and language technologies by solving puzzles. The contest helps students identify potential careers related to languages, language technologies, and computer science. They also exercise problem-solving skills and have fun!

OPEN ROUND

Date: January 23, 2020
Time: 10:00am - 1:00pm (Please arrive early as the contest starts immediately at 10:00am)

We will be hosting practice rounds on December 2nd and January 6th from  3:30pm-5pm in LNCO 2110. If you would like to join us to become familiar with the types of problems you may encounter during the competition rounds, please register here:

INVITATIONAL ROUND

The problems in this round are harder than the Open Round problems. The purpose is to select national winners, who will be eligible to participate in the international competition, the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL).
