Karen’s favorite time of year in Utah is fall when the leaves change and the sky is bright blue. She also enjoys soccer, hiking, and anything to do with family. Karen has two children and three step-children and is always happy when the house is full of people. She loves teaching international students and especially enjoys that moment when they understand something and it makes a difference in their lives.
Melissa has been teaching English for 10 years and loves her job, classes, and students. She's taught all levels of ESL, from very beginning to advanced, in 3 states, Minnesota, Oregon, and Utah, and 2 countries, China and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Melissa and her husband Dan have been married for 10 years. They have 1 beautiful dog named Bird and 4 chickens. The 3 of them, not including the chickens, love to garden, hike, read, camp, and travel.
Besides having a passion for teaching, Amber also has a passion for traveling. In fact, she has been to 37 countries. She also loves being outside, especially when it involves rock climbing, running, or hiking. She also speaks Spanish and enjoys helping international students realize the beauty and power of speaking another language.
Vicky has been teaching since serving in the Peace Corps in Papua New Guinea in the late 1980s. She has taught at all levels, including TOEFL prep and pronunciation for graduate students as well as beginning English for students at an elementary school in Chile. Originally from Wisconsin, she has also lived in Minnesota, Alaska, and Texas. She and her husband have two children and have enjoyed hosting many international exchange students and travelers.
