Professors MaryAnn Christison and Scott Jarvis Recieve Research Incentive Seed Grant

The Department of Linguistics congratulates Professors MaryAnn Christison and Scott Jarvis on receiving a Research Incentive Seed Grant from the Office of the Vice President of Research and the College of Humanities for 2020-21.

The grant supports their research on early childhood foreign language immersion, including how young foreign language learners' story comprehension abilities develop over time and across languages; how productive abilities develop over time--lexical, phonological, semantic, etc.; what evidence there is for meta-linguistic awareness, and what instructional practices are employed by early childhood teachers.
