Dori Huang will be presenting two papers in the 8th International Conference on Immersion
and Dual Language Education that will be held March 2-5, 2022 at the Grand America
Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Her first paper, titled "Linguistic Features Differentiating Intermediate-High and
Advanced Chinese Immersion Learners' Writing," is based on the pilot study to my dissertation
The second paper is a co-presentation paper with the the director of the Utah Chinese
Bridge Program, titled "Moving from Intermediate to Advanced: Project-based Learning
and IPA in Chinese Bridge Classroom," which is more pedagogy-centered work. Dori believes
"that any effective pedagogical strategies must be grounded on solid theoretical understandings
of linguistic rules. These two papers are thus inherently related that represents
theoretical and practical sides of SLA in general, and of DLI in particular."
