Department of Linguistics graduate Raichle 'Rai' Farrelly has made her way back to the Intermountain West. After graduating from the U with her MA and PhD in Linguistics, she worked as an Assistant Professor in the MA TEFL Program at the American University of Armenia, then as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Linguistics at St. Michael's College in Vermont. This fall, she began a position as the Director of the TESOL Certificate Programs at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she teaches in both the Department of Linguistics and the International English Center. She also serves as the Communications Director for the nonprofit organization LESLLA (Literacy Education and Second Language Learning for Adults) and as Past-Chair for the TESOL Refugee Concerns Interest Section. In October, you'll see her name on the ballot for the TESOL International Association's Nominating Committee. Keeping her grad school ties strong, she co-authored a book with Linguistics alumna, Dr. Zuzana Tomas, co-authored a chapter with Linguistics alumni Dr. Kristen Schaub-Lindahl, Dr. Zuzana Tomas, and Dr. Anna Krulatz, and is currently co-editing a handbook on literacy with Dr. Anna Krulatz.
